Pottery Class

Back in September and October, I took an evening pottery class at the local art center. It was a lot of fun to be able to just go and make things and get away from the house for a couple of hours once a week. Our first project was a coil pot. I wasn't too thrilled with the way mine turned out and I don't know if I'll ever use it, but whatever. The glaze ended up being too thin on this piece, too.

The next project was a casserole dish. I'm happy to say that I've already used it and it didn't explode in the oven or anything like that.

And lastly, I made 4 small bowls/pots on the wheel. The only one I don't really like is the little brown one. The glaze color is a little too blah. It's kind of hard to choose colors because you just have a little chart to look at. The glaze is a completely different color in the container than after it's been fired in the kiln.

I found some of the pots that I threw on the wheel back in my high school pottery class and these ones are a huge improvement. haha!

I really like these and the colors you used. I can especially see that casserole dish as looking pretty cool all full of lasagna!
