We finally went out and bought a 2nd car today folks. Some of you probably didn't realize that we've been living with just one car for awhile now. But since our city is not that big and Brian's work is less than 10 minutes away, I simply drive him to the clinic every morning and pick him up at 5. It's annoying, but it's been working for us and it's been nice to only have to pay for gas for one car and only have one car on the insurance, etc. When Greta started school, it became a little more annoying though. Since August, I have been waking up, getting myself ready, driving Brian to work, driving back home, getting the girls ready, and taking Greta to school. And since Greta is a world class dawdler, it makes my mornings very stressful! We knew that we needed to get a larger car for when the baby is born since we can't fit three booster/car seats in the Civic. I had been looking at the Mazda5's for a little while. I liked them because they're kind of a mini-minivan. Regular sized minivans just seem so huge to me because I'm petite. I hate driving them. I spotted a 2009 Mazda5 for sale last night online that had amazingly low miles (a little less than 19,000) and showed it to Brian. We drove down to Fort Worth this morning to check it out and ended up driving it home! It seats 6 people (3 rows of 2), has the sliding rear doors, and it's actually a stick-shift, which is pretty rare in any type of SUV/Wagon/Minivan. I'm excited about having a new car (not so excited about having a car payment- blech!) and I hope that it lasts us for awhile- crossing my fingers!

how exciting! i'm sure the benefits will outweigh the monthly payment. it looks really nice. i like the color. and i loved your pumpkin patch pictures too, especially the one where it shows how much they've grown. it was fun to compare. you need to snap a picture there every year!
Yay! Having a second car is such a nice luxury. We went through the 1-car thing for a few years. It just makes life a hassle! I like it, too! Looks/sounds like a great size!
