I had an OB appointment this morning. On my way out, I stopped to make my next appointment and set up the time to have my ultrasound when my parents are visiting next month. The lady at the desk was so snippy with me, I couldn't believe it. She asked if I preferred mornings or afternoons and I said, "It just needs to be after 8:30 because I have to take my daughter to school." Her response? "Uh- we don't even get here until 8:30." Sorry that I wasn't aware of your exact opening time- a lot of places open at 8:00. Then she proceeded to tell me that I don't look like I've gained enough weight to be 21 weeks along. Ummm...thanks, but the doctor just told me that I was right on target. When I had my initial "confirmation of pregnancy" appointment, they did a vaginal ultrasound, which I had never had before. I asked the lady if this next one would be a regular ultrasound, or another vaginal one because I thought it might be a little awkward to be in stirrups with my dad in the room. She looked at me like I was a complete idiot and said "You'll have a sheet covering you and he'll be sitting off to the side so it's not like he's going to see anything." Maybe I'm a prude, but that still sounds awkward to me. Anyone else?

what is wrong with that woman, commenting on your weight? I had a dream that you had another girl. She had really dark hair though so I don't think my dream is that reliable. What day is your gender ultrasound? I would like a phone call!
i would write a complaint about this woman! i hate when people expect you to know every little thing about how their office works...i know they probably get the same questions a lot from people, and even if it gets annoying to them...too bad! that's your job! but on a happy note, i can't wait to find out what you're having!!!
Totally awkward. I wouldn't be in the room with you if you were having a vaginal ultrasound, and I'm a girl. Also, I had a dream you had a boy and were very disappointed.
as a side note. You cannot have a vaginal ultrasound for a gender ultrasound because it cannot give you the views of the organs you need
You're having a girl. no need to get an ultrasound at all. And you are naming her Rosemary.
And..I would have asked to speak to this woman's boss. But I do stuff like that.
You're so bossy Freyja- such an older sister! And we already have a girl name picked out and it's not Rosemary. Plus, Jade's middle name is Rosalind, which is similar.
