Trip to the Zoo

For Labor Day, we took a day trip down to Gainesville, Texas (just a half-hour down the freeway) and went to the Frank Buck Zoo. It's a pretty small zoo, so there wasn't a whole lot to see. Their "Main Attraction" is two giraffes. ha! But I think the girls had fun walking around and seeing everything. There's also a big wooden castle playground just outside of the zoo that we played on afterward.

Here's Jade showing her wingspan compared to a turkey vulture. I'm not sure why she decided to open her mouth- she's goofy like that.

And of all the random things, they had three Capybaras at the zoo. These things were gigantic! Totally reminded me of the ROUS' from The Princess Bride. bwhahaha.


The highlight of the trip was seeing two kangaroos get into a fight:
