On thursday, Greta had her first day of pre-school! When I woke her up, she said "What? I'm still sleeping!" I told her that it was time to get ready for school and she leaped out of bed because she was so excited. I took a few pictures of her in her first day outfit before we left (Jade has some crazy hair and a crazy expression going on).
Greta wanted a picture of her new Hello Kitty backpack and Jade was pretending that she was showing off a backpack as well.
Random Sidenote.......Since the Bee backpack was too small, we went wednesday evening over to JC Penney to find a new one. A couple of years ago we randomly signed up for a JC Penney card while Brian was buying some new shoes. They always have really good sales and they always send me coupons in the mail because we have a card. One coupon that I get fairly often is for $15 off of a purchase of $15 or more. Awesome, right? Greta's Hello Kitty backpack was originally $30 but was on sale for $15, so with my nifty coupon, the backpack was FREE!
Anyway- so at 8:05, Jade and I took Greta over to school. They let the parents stay for a few minutes the first day. Her teacher had little containers of play dough set out for each kid and leis for them to wear.
A couple of the kids were bawling, but Greta did really well. When we picked her up at 2:45, she was excited to tell me all about recess and eating lunch and story time. I think she's going to have a fun school year.
And miracle of miracles- it rained on Thursday!!! Like I said in my previous post, it has been unbearably hot here all summer. But some MUCH needed rain was poured down on us and I was very grateful! Jade and I watched it excitedly all afternoon and then ran outside to play with some bubbles when it finally stopped. I am anxious for fall to arrive!

Very exciting! She looks so cute, and it made me a little sad to think that Charlotte will be going to school a year from now.
